Empowering Fresh Minds through Reading the Quran
Reading the Quran is a means of establishing a direct connection with Allah. Quran is a communication from Allah to humanity, and by reading it, one can strengthen their relationship with their Creator.
It is seen as a form of worship and a way to draw closer to Allah.
The Quran is considered the ultimate source of guidance for Muslims and it serves as a comprehensive guide to understanding the fundamental principles and teachings of Islam.
By reading the Quran, Muslims can acquire knowledge about their faith, learn about the beliefs and practices of Islam, and gain a deeper understanding of their religion.
Teaching Quran reading to children is of great importance and teaching the Arabic alphabet is the prerequisite of reading the Quran.
Below are several reasons why this education is significant for children:
- Connection with the Quran: Teaching the Arabic alphabet to Muslim children enables them to establish a strong connection with the Quran. By familiarizing themselves with the Arabic alphabet, children will be able to understand the letters and words of the Quran and read and recite it effectively.
- Religious identity: Teaching the Arabic alphabet to children under the age of 8 allows them to develop a deeper connection with their religious identity. Arabic, as the language of the Quran and Islam, holds a special place among Muslims, and teaching it to children strengthens their religious identity.
- Cognitive and intellectual development: Reading the Quran requires concentration and attention, which aids in the cognitive and intellectual development of children. Teaching Quran reading to children enhances their reading and pronunciation skills and is highly beneficial for the development of their cognitive and intellectual abilities.
Given the importance of this matter, it is announced with delight that DarulQuran Academy has conducted a new Reading Quran course. The DarulQuran intends to offer a new Reading Quran course for children aged 6 to 10.
An important point to note is that based on the evaluations conducted from previous courses, it has been decided that in this new course, the Arabic letters and their sounds will be taught separately.
This approach allows children to gradually become familiar with the Arabic letters and their sounds, enabling them to learn them correctly.
goal of these changes is to simplify the learning process for children.
The Reading Quran course, using effective teaching methods, makes learning more engaging for children. This course is divided into three stages. In the first stage, which consists of 20 sessions, children learn the Arabic alphabet.
The teaching in this stage is based on storytelling. The narrator of these stories is a boy named Ahmed, who visits his grandfather’s farm every day and tells stories about the farm animals and their adventures.
Experienced instructors teach the Arabic alphabet to children by reconstructing the shapes and sounds of the letters within these stories.
The second stage includes 25 sessions and 18 lessons, focusing on teaching the basic rules of Reading the Quran, starting with the vowel sounds.
Considering the importance of repetition and practice in learning, a workbook has been prepared for children to ensure continuous practice and repetition.
After completing the second stage, a 15-session Quran fluency course is offered, which focuses on reading the chapters from Juz 30 and reviews the teachings from the previous courses.
