Interfaith Dialogue Between Islam & Cristianity Held at DarulQuran Academy

On Friday, July 26, 2024, the DarulQuran Academy hosted an interfaith dialogue. The event featured Professor Rudolph Boshoff and Professor Rebecca Masterton engaging in a religious discussion.

During the session, Dr. Masterton elaborated on the concept of Tawhid (the oneness of God) in Islam, explaining its rational and mystical foundations.

Following this, Professor Boshoff elucidated the concept of the Trinity in Christianity and its significance in the Christian world.

Dr. Masterton then highlighted the manifestation of God in the universe, discussing the role of both external and internal signs in shaping the belief system of Muslims.

On the other hand, Professor Boshoff emphasized the manifestation of God in the person of Jesus Christ, considering it the spiritual foundation of the Christian world and explaining its various aspects in Christian theology.

In the next segment, Dr. Masterton delved into Islamic mystical concepts, discussing perspectives on the Perfect Human and the relationship between humans, the world, and God, based on Islamic mystical sources.

Professor Boshoff also explained the mystical experience from a Christian perspective, outlining the characteristics of mystical intuition in Christianity.

He emphasized that Christianity has followed a rational and spiritual path in its view of God, noting that the most complete articulation of the relationship between humans, God, and the world can be found in theological analyses of Jesus Christ.

The session underscored the importance of interfaith dialogues and expressed hope that such discussions would continue in the future.
